I recently stayed at the Georgia Safari and Conservation Park, and it was a terrific experience!

My home for three days was a magnificent tent (currently one of six) that came from South Africa as a kit which they then built on-site. It was glamping at its finest! My tent had a wrap-around deck and full-length glass doors on the backside which looked out onto a pasture. It was over 800 square feet inside; the interior was beautifully decorated and had most anything you could want – air conditioning (definitely was needed – the highs during my stay ranged from 95 – 101 degrees), satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was quite wonderful with a big soaking tub and a huge shower. The bedrooms were magnificent particularly the master bedroom with the king-sized bed; the second bedroom with two twin XL beds was beautifully done as well.

There was a private pasture behind my tent and I could look out the windows or sit on the deck with the beautiful outdoor furniture provided and watch ostriches, Watusi cattle, and a type of deer called Sitatunga. On adjacent pastures, I watched rhinos, bison, and Roan antelope. Work at the park started at 6 AM and ended at 6 PM, but even then it didn’t really end with security making rounds throughout the night driving along fence lines to ensure all was well.

Glamping was a terrific experience and it was incredible that it was only 90 minutes from my house! For those who don’t wish to have an on-site glamping experience, there are 1-2 hour safari outings that can also be enjoyed. I highly recommend and hope you enjoy the Park!
