Art Exhibit / Peak Summer: works by Trish Jones at Madison Artists Guild Gallery
The Madison Artists Guild is pleased to welcome renowned artist Trish Jones back to the MAGallery from July 17 – August 25, 2026.
A former Madison resident and self-taught Southern artist, she is known for a style that is both timeless and contemporary. Inspired by rural Southern life, her paintings capture the charm of small towns, the beauty of the natural landscape, and the power of memory and place through warmth, vibrant color, and a distinctive sense of storytelling.
The Gallery is open Monday – Saturday from 11am to 5pm.

Hard Labor Creek State Park keeps a packed calendar of ranger-led events. Check out a few favorites coming up this month:
Twilight Kayak Tour (8/15 & 8/29, 7:00 PM) – Evening wildlife spotting on Lake Rutledge.
Kayaking 101 (8/16 & 8/30, 6:30 PM) – Beginner-friendly paddling lessons.
Scorpion Night Hike (8/21, 8:30 PM) – Hunt for scorpions using UV flashlights.
Pollinator Education & Census (8/22, 11:00 AM) – Hands-on activities and pollinator counting.
Night Sounds Hike (8/28, 8:30 PM) – Guided walk to listen for nocturnal creatures.
Edible & Multi-Use Plant Hike (8/29, 1:00 PM) – Learn historical uses for native plants.
Archery 101 (8/30, 10:00 AM) – Learn the basics and hit the bullseye.

"Scenes from the USA & Europe" Art Exhibition Opening at Madison Artists Guild Gallery
The Madison Artists Guild & Gallery is proud to present Scenes from the USA & Europe, a special exhibition by artist Jim Sutherland, MD, with a fun opening event happening Friday, August 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy an evening of original artwork, live music by MaCayla Hodges, and food catered by Taco on Main. This event is free and open to the public.
