The Madison Morgan County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MMCVB) is looking for a dynamic, creative, tech-savvy individual to join our team and help advance our vision of being a “must-visit” destination. MMCVB promotes economic development and vitality through travel and overnight stays and encourages significant participation by visitors in the local tourism economy.
The Marketing Communications Internship will advance the presence of Madison-Morgan County’s brand image and reputation as a travel destination by providing support in the areas of marketing, social media, and advertising. This multi-faceted position will build valuable skill sets in digital marketing and professional communications, including website and social media content creation. Opportunity to gain insight on and utilize up-to-date marketing trends and branding techniques in the travel and hospitality industry.
Requires at least 1-day per week in office at the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), with opportunity to work remotely otherwise.
Responsibilities & details:
- Work in partnership with the Marketing Specialist and Director to create and update marketing content, including blogs, itineraries, website copy, brochures, flyers, reports, and other promotional materials.
- Assist in the development of content for digital marketing across social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. Gain real-world experience implementing B2C marketing tactics.
- Help promote and collect responses for the Visitor Profile Survey by engaging with visitors and encouraging participation. Assist in compiling and reporting survey results.

Computer skills:

Hours & compensation: 200 hours per semester, $500 stipend available upon completion.

Marketing & Sales Specialist – Part-time

The Madison Morgan County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MMCVB) is looking for a dynamic, goal-oriented, tech-savvy individual to join our team and help advance our vision of being a “must-visit” destination. MMCVB promotes economic development and vitality through travel and overnight stays and encourages significant participation by visitors in the local tourism economy.
The Sales and Marketing Specialist will expertly promote the brand by creating compelling marketing materials, meeting direct sales goals, maintaining consistent and up-to-date website content, analyzing marketing data to drive growth, and executing strategic marketing initiatives. This position also has the opportunity to participate in state, regional and local organizations focused on advancing tourism.
Responsibilities include, but are not exclusive to:
- Understanding the brand, brand guidelines, goals and audiences to create tailored marketing materials and messaging;
- Managing the development, publishing and maintenance of inspiring, high-quality content (itineraries, informational articles, asset listings, event listings, print, images and video) to reach and engage target audiences across all platforms and channels;
- Coordinating and maintaining an ongoing and comprehensive video and image library, understanding usage rights and procurement avenues;
- Maintaining active accounts across auxiliary social media platforms including YouTube and Pinterest;
- Builds relationships and pursues opportunities to achieve sales targets for co-op marketing offerings; Assists with sales and distribution for annual destination guide;
- Assists the Director in meeting goals and effectively executing the annual Marketing Plan; utilizes task management tools including editorial calendar and Asana to stay on top of deadlines;
- Compiles monthly reports for board of directors, city, and county;
- Assists Director with bookkeeping, administrative tasks, and other various projects as assigned.
Skills and Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Hospitality, or other related field;
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace platforms and experience with WordPress;
- Graphic design (Canva) and basic Adobe Photoshop skills required; Photography and video skills a plus;
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with demanding deadlines;
- Demonstrates quick, creative, and analytical thinking with acute attention to detail and a strong focus on execution;
- Flexibility – Some events may require your presence outside of regular work hours; Must be able to lift 20lbs (boxes of brochures).
Compensation:
Up to $20 per hour, depending on experience. Simple IRA retirement plan, including 3% company match. Ability to work remotely with Director approval, at least one day per week must be served on site.

Welcome Center Greeter (Information Specialist) – Part-time; 4-14 hours per week

The Madison Morgan County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MMCVB) is looking for a friendly, reliable individual to join our team and help showcase our community to visitors at the Welcome Center. This part-time position reports to the Madison Morgan County CVB Executive Director and is responsible as the first point of contact for visitors and residents. As such, this employee must always exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor and must remain current on all attractions and events as well as be able to share historic information of interest to our visitors. Training provided. This is a part-time position, working 4-14 hours a week and occasional weekends.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Follow opening/closing checklist;
- Stand up as people come through the door and greet everyone in a courteous and professional manner;
- Answer the phone and general questions in a courteous and professional manner;
- Maintain public areas including restrooms in a clean, orderly fashion and respond to emergency malfunctions as needed;
- Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and materials for Welcome Center (brochures, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc.) to ensure supplies do not run out;
- Keep information resources stocked daily (brochures, maps, etc.) and in an orderly fashion;
- Fulfill requests for brochures as needed and process all outgoing mail;
- Assist with event or business additions/updates and other admin tasks as needed;
- Check email and respond accordingly; and
- Other related duties, as assigned.
Compensation: $10.50 per hour
As an organization that represents the City of Madison and Morgan County, this employee must exhibit a high level of professionalism and maintain a courteous demeanor at all times. This position reports to the Executive Director.
