A part of the Madison Historic District Wellness Trail, visitors love taking this scenic and beautiful path to Madison’s historic cemeteries.

Accessible by walking through a modest pergola just off Academy Street, between Madison Markets and the Morgan County African-American Museum, the meandering trail features native plants and bridges crossing Round Bowl Springs.

As a source of fresh water for early settlers, Round Bowl Springs has been the center of Madison life since the town’s incorporation in 1809. Around the turn of the new millennium, the current park was constructed as the city’s first linear greenspace and has been a beloved place to wander ever since.
