Coffee With A Ranger

Join a Ranger for fresh brewed coffee, and a demonstration on Dutch Oven cooking over a fire. Coffee, hot chocolate, and hot tea will be available. Call the Visitor Center to register in advance, space is limited. Meet at the visitor center.
Fall Wagon Rides

Fall is a great time to tour the park in our rustic “Hay Wagon.” Learn about the Civilian Conservation Corps and the role they played in creating this park. Enjoy fall color and any wildlife we see along the way. Rides start every 30 min from Trading Post/Park Office.
Night Hike and Scorpion Hunt
Saturday, Nov 10, Nov 17, Nov 24 6-7pm $3 Parking fee: $5
We’re heading into the night to learn about the things that we can’t normally see. We’ll hunt for scorpions by using UV lights, listen for owls, and watch the stars. We will meet at the Trading Post (Visitor Center) to walk along an easy/moderate 1-mile trail. Please bring a flashlight and wear sturdy shoes. Call to register in advance. This program is directed towards kids ages 6 and older. Please arrive at least 10 min before the event begins.

Come out and enjoy a guided afternoon tour of Lake Rutledge on a kayak/canoe. Unwind while hearing about the history of Hard Labor Creek while paddling to the sounds of nature. Meet at the kayak rack (beach area). Bring water and sunscreen. Space is limited, preregister in advance.
Pay for parking passes ($5) at the collection box at the beach parking area (cash only).
Smoking and intoxicants prohibited during the program.
Full Moon Paddle

Enjoy a ranger led paddle at night along the beautiful Lake Rutledge under the light of a full moon. Experience the wonders of nature that are unique to nighttime. Kids must be 8 or older. Bring your own kayak/canoe or rent here. Meet at the beach area. Bring a flash light, bug repellent, water-shoes, and water. Register in advance.
There is a collection box for park passes ($5) at the beach parking area (cash only). Smoking and intoxicants prohibited during the program.
Fall Trees and Leaves Hike @ Hard Labor Creek State Park

Winter can be a great time to learn “Bark and Buds” of our native trees. Join a Park Ranger on this Guided walk of the Brantley Nature Trail and discover how much fun learning winter trees can be. Meet at the Park Office/Trading Post. Register in advance.
